Curse of the Thieving Addiction
A curse that can especially push more pacifist and righteous characters to their limits. If you are its victim, you want to have everything. Just everything.
Or you limit it to a specific type of items, such as only shiny objects or something more bizarre like buttons or everything made of glass. As long as you see it, you must take it – no matter where it is. Even if it’s the last shirt of Farmer Otto.
This curse allows you to be creative, but it can also quickly become annoying if too many situations are boycotted because of it. It is therefore especially suited for experienced groups, as group dynamics can “break down” more quickly.
Curse of Talking Things
With this curse, just about everything speaks to you. Or only something specific, like the magical artifact you just cheekily pocketed. And you are the only one who can hear it.
Here, the dungeon master can decide whether only a specific object speaks to you or whether, for example, all weapons you see or everything made of stone suddenly engages you in conversation.
This usually presents a lot of potential, as the dungeon master can decide whether it is really so or if the corresponding character is just imagining the whole thing. This way, information can be spread that is either true or leads the group onto false trails. Or maybe a few funny conversations arise, which is already a big win.
