A 19-year-old woman reached out to the public on the internet for help: Her boyfriend would rather play Elden Ring than share affection with her. Many online can relate, saying they have also been neglected for Elden Ring. Men, however, seem to admire the young man’s steadfastness, as he is apparently “maidenless.”
What kind of post was that? Last week, a woman addressed the audience of a subreddit for “relationship advice.” She said she was 19, her boyfriend 22, they rarely find time to spend together and hadn’t exchanged affection in a month and a half.
But then there was an opportunity for a date, which was very nice, but when they went to his house, he only had eyes for a “new computer game” – she let him play for two hours, but then sought his company, yet he was completely engrossed in the game. When she offered him affection, he only said “Oh” and kept playing.
Ultimately, she wanted to give him a little more time, but then fell asleep at 2 AM without having cuddled at least once.
When she sought a conversation the next morning, he simply said it was “a new game.” She is now asking on Reddit if this behavior is normal. He is her first boyfriend, and she wonders if her expectations for a relationship are too high.
“I too have been neglected for Elden Ring recently”
These are the reactions: In the relationship subreddit, people immediately guess that the game must be Elden Ring. The 19-year-old confirms that. It is Elden Ring.
It is then said that the young woman’s situation is apparently widespread. Elden Ring is reportedly testing relationships worldwide:
- A fellow sufferer says: “I too have been neglected for Elden Ring recently.”
- Another regrets giving her husband Elden Ring.
- A third says her husband is a gamer, but not someone who ignores the family. At least that was the case until he discovered the damn Elden Ring.

In the relationship subreddit, some older people also chime in, who have been in a relationship for a while, where one partner likes to play. It’s noticeable that mutual understanding and consideration are crucial for a relationship to work.
A user says:
“These days, I don’t let the game dictate my whole life anymore. I play when it doesn’t bother my wife too much. Still, I now have 35 hours in Elden Ring and my sleep schedule is totally out of whack, but my wife doesn’t mind because I help her around the house.
“The behavior is absolutely maidenless”
How do gamers react? The story also spread to the subreddit for the game, Elden Ring. Here, people say that the 22-year-old behaves “absolutely maidenless.” The term “maidenless” keeps appearing as an insult in Elden Ring. The oddly archaic insult has developed into a meme in the community.
Overall, there is much understanding for the 22-year-old. Elden Ring is apparently so good and so all-consuming that one gives up quite a bit for it.
Our chief editor Leya also has a lot of love for Elden Ring:
Although I scream a lot and am scared, Elden Ring is pure relaxation
