Uber Uniques are the best items in Diablo 4, but for the longest time since release, they were considered useless – because hardly anyone could obtain them. Now, in Season 2, the weapons and armor are significantly more accessible. Still, you need to invest a lot of time, as players demonstrate.
These are the items:
- Uber Uniques are special versions of unique items. Due to their extreme rarity, players saw them as “a waste of development time.”
- The items are defined by the fact that they represent the best items for almost every class. Since Season 2, you can specifically farm Uber Uniques. To do this, you must defeat the new boss Uber Duriel.
- However, even here you only have a chance to obtain such an item. An expert speaks of around 2% per kill, which is still significantly more than ever before.
How long do I need to farm? In a thread on Reddit, a user calculates how much time he needs to find his desired Uber Unique. The basis: You can only summon Duriel by using Living Steel.
This material is only obtainable in Hellflights and is also sparse. Players estimate about 5–6 drops per flood. In the calculation, the player shows how many Hellflights he needs to acquire enough steel so that he can summon Duriel often enough statistically for an Uber Unique to drop.
In a comment, however, someone with apparently greater mathematical understanding shows that this calculation is incorrect and corrects it with complex mathematics:
Wizards, Hunters, and Druids therefore need:
- 173 kills on Duriel for a 50% chance
- 346 kills for a 75% chance
- 1,149 kills for a 99% chance
Barbarians and Necromancers would need:
- 208 kills on Duriel for a 50% chance
- 415 kills for a 75% chance
- 1,379 kills for a 99% chance
Wizards, Hunters, and Druids have a smaller pool of specific items, which is why they have it easier. Note: we are not a math site. If someone finds errors in the calculation, feel free to comment.
In the worst case, this equates to around 2,300 Hellflights when you get 6 Living Steel there. The numbers sound high, but apply to a specific Uber Unique. If you just want any, the values range between 34 and 228 kills (equating to up to 38 floods).
“People’s expectations are annoying”
In the same thread and also earlier, players discuss that the low drop rates and the required farming aren’t so bad. On the one hand, it’s good that you don’t get everything thrown at you.
This way, you have something to do, and in Diablo 2, it was almost impossible to find the best runes yourself. On the other hand, you also don’t really need Uber Uniques. While they are for many of the best builds in Diablo 4 the “Best in Slot,” they are by no means build-defining.
The difference from Diablo 2 is that you can’t just exchange them here because trading with Uber Uniques is limited. Nevertheless, these items present a definite luxury problem. To play a good build and have fun, you don’t need them.
