Batman Stories with Unparalleled Combat Feel
What are the games about? As a player, you are the man in the bat suit. Each part of the series tells a largely self-contained story:
- In the first part, the action is still confined to Arkham Asylum, where a variety of supervillains are held captive.
- Part 2 takes place in Arkham City – a large, closed-off area in Gotham City where the villains live “freely” among themselves.
- In the finale of the trilogy, all of Gotham is open to you. You can now even traverse the city with the Batmobile.
By the way: Paul Dini, the creator of Batman: The Animated Series, contributed to the story of the first two games. In the English voiceover, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill return as the voices of Batman and the Joker.
Additionally, you’ll find one of the best combat systems in action games here: Batman’s movements feel fluid and every punch has impact. You can also attack criminals from the shadows and hear how fear spreads among them.
In between, you’ll also be doing some detective work as Batman. For instance, you investigate crime scenes for clues and reconstruct what has happened there. You are also allowed to glide through the air, which is especially fun in the open worlds of Arkham City and Knight.
