A tweet from Xbox UK has been deleted after it was released. It humorously dissed the competition at Sony. It was about the methods on how to position the PS5 and the Xbox Series X horizontally.
What happened? On Wednesday, October 7th, Sony released a teardown of the new PlayStation 5: they completely disassembled the console.
On the same day, Xbox UK published a tweet demonstrating exactly what one needs to do to position the Xbox Series X horizontally. Thus, they sent a funny diss to the Sony team, which explains in a video how to perform the position change on the PS5.
- The PS5 is first laid on its side from the vertical stand
- Then the stand is unscrewed with a tool
- The screw can be stored in the stand. You can remove a clip that covers the hole in the console through which the screw was passed
- The storage compartment on the stand can then be closed
- Now clip the stand onto the console
- The console can now be placed horizontally
The Xbox UK team made a joke and tweeted their instructions on how to change the Xbox Series X from vertical to horizontal. They used exactly two pictures for that.
The tweet has since been deleted, but IGN managed to capture a screenshot of it.
If you prefer to store the Xbox horizontally, simply lay the console on its side. Just be sure that the CD drive is on top and front. However, the stand always remains attached to Microsoft’s console. Do you even have enough space for the Xbox Series X?

This is what happened next: After the tweet was published, it is no longer available on the Xbox UK account. It has apparently been deleted.
However, this is probably not the only jab that Sony received. As reported by the Twitter account _XboxNews, Xbox Taiwan is said to have commented on the size of Sony’s PS5 in a post. The image shows the Xbox Series X and the smaller Xbox Series S side by side. In between, there is room for a modern skyscraper in the distance.
Apparently a reference to the PS5, which resembles the building in the picture with its futuristic design and is the largest next-gen console in comparison.
Aside from the design, you can expect real hits with the new consoles. Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox, places the next-gen in context. He says: The jump to PS5 and Xbox Series X is greater than from 2D to 3D. However, you might not recognize that at the launch of the consoles, as many old games are also being released as ports for the new consoles.
