A Twitch streamer makes a statement and deletes all his characters in World of Warcraft. He wants to play games that he enjoys again.
In recent days, there has been a lot of protest in and around World of Warcraft. Many content creators are turning away from Blizzard and World of Warcraft in light of the current discrimination and sexism scandal. Other streamers, like Asmongold, have already switched to Final Fantasy XIV. Others are now making drastic statements and deleting all their beloved WoW characters.
What happened? The streamer imQuazii has enjoyed playing World of Warcraft on Twitch for years. However, over the past few years, his interest has diminished as he was dissatisfied with the game. Shadowlands was no improvement for him, and the current sexism scandal surrounding Blizzard ultimately led to a drastic decision.
In his stream titled “The last WoW stream? THE LAST ON A LONG ROAD. It was 10 great years,” imQuazii decided to delete all his characters in World of Warcraft one by one. Only the last 3 characters, which are not at max level anyway, remain as he cannot delete them from the main menu without logging in again. Characters with mail in their inbox cannot be deleted.
While he deletes all the characters, he displays a list on the screen of issues he currently sees in World of Warcraft and in the recent past. This includes the controversial covenant system, the domination shards, as well as the maw or the media in the covenant sanctum along with the limited energy to change them.

What does imQuazii want to do now? He wants to focus on other games that he truly enjoys. He says that he has missed many other games because of World of Warcraft and has also somewhat closed his eyes to all the great games that have been released in recent years. Without World of Warcraft as a permanent game, he now has time to catch up on all of that:
I will play games that I enjoy. I will play games that make me feel like a child again.

What is being criticized about the video? For most viewers, the video seems to have a symbolic character. In World of Warcraft, even after months or years, it is possible to simply restore deleted characters – this can be done quite easily through the menu and doesn’t even require support assistance. Therefore, some criticize that imQuazii should have requested Blizzard to delete his entire Battle.net account – only then are the characters truly irretrievably lost.
