The times of Burning Crusade are over once again. Today marks the end of an era in World of Warcraft Classic – and a new one begins.
For those for whom “The Burning Crusade Classic” was a revelation, they are surely mourning in the last hours of this expansion. The age of BC Classic is as good as over, as in just a few hours WoW Classic will enter the next era – that of Wrath of the Lich King.
What happens in WoW Classic? On the night of August 30 to August 31, the major Pre-Patch 3.0 for World of Warcraft Classic will be applied to the existing “The Burning Crusade Classic” realms. This will officially transition all realms into the WotLK era and introduce all the system changes that came with the second expansion – such as the achievement system or the revised talents.
Will you no longer be able to play “Burning Crusade”? Correct. With the upcoming launch of WotLK Classic, the BC realms will be retired and seamlessly transition into the next expansion. If you are only interested in Burning Crusade, you’re out of luck.
Of course, the content can still be played on the WotLK realms, but the raids and other content will likely have little relevance to the endgame.
What else is coming up? In the coming days, it’s going to kick off for Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Everyone has a few days to get acquainted with the revisions and the Death Knight before the legendary zombie invasion begins soon. The exact schedule for the European realms is as follows:
- August 31: The pre-patch will be released.
- September 6 – 13: The zombie plague will spread in Azeroth and create chaos. Former heroes can become zombies and infect the whole world.
- September 13 – 26: The Scourge invasions with the necropolises will take place everywhere in the world. Here, particularly powerful rewards await that will ease the start of the new expansion.
- September 27: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be officially released at midnight.
- October 5: Arena Season 5, the first season of WotLK Classic, begins.
- October 7: The first 3 raids open, namely Naxxramas, the Eye of Eternity, and the Obsidian Sanctum.
Are you looking forward to Wrath of the Lich King Classic? Or would you have liked to linger a little longer in the nostalgia of The Burning Crusade?
