Time is running out, and considering that the next expansion of World of Warcraft is expected to launch in 4 to 5 months, some fans are rightly asking where the alpha or beta of “The War Within” is. Now Blizzard has unlocked the option to register for the beta of the new add-on.
How can you sign up? To register for the beta of “The War Within”, you need to follow a few steps:
- Simply log in to the official site of World of Warcraft with your account.
- Then click on the large “Beta Sign-Up” button.
- On the following page, click on “Request Beta Access”.
If everything worked, you will receive a green message with a checkmark informing you that the registration was successful.
Can you participate in another way? Yes, that is possible. If you pre-order the most expensive version of “The War Within”, the “Epic Edition”, it includes guaranteed access to the beta, along with some other bonuses, such as a 3-day early access.
However, this does not mean that you will gain access to the beta immediately at its launch. It is quite possible that pre-order customers will be invited to the beta at a later time when the tests aim for a larger player count to test areas with a high number of characters or to gather broader feedback.
How do you find out if you are in? If you receive beta access, you can check this directly in the Battle.net app. In that case, you could select “In Development” under the version selection menu for World of Warcraft and choose the beta for The War Within. At the same time, you will also be informed by an email from Blizzard.
Be cautious if you receive emails promising access that require you to click on any link or provide any data – these are scams. In recent years, scammers have repeatedly attempted to steal account data from careless WoW enthusiasts.
When does the beta start? There is currently no specific date for the beta. However, clues from data mining and the roadmap suggest that at least the alpha will start either this week or next week. Typically, the beta test occurs a few weeks later.
