Blizzard has released a new CGI cinematic featuring Saurfang. Check out what drives the old warrior-orc in World of Warcraft!
The developers at Blizzard have once again managed to present a major surprise. Completely unexpectedly, they have released another cinematic for World of Warcraft – and not a “drawn” one, like the Warbringer videos, but a CGI video titled “Old Warrior.” It tells the story of Saurfang and his motivation, after Sylvanas burned Teldrassil.
You can watch the nearly 6-minute video here:
An end full of honor. Varok Saurfang longs for a death on the battlefield. After his own son became a death knight under Arthas, Varok is also trying to finally find an honorable death in battle, which has been denied to him for some time. His spirit is mostly broken, and after the burning of Teldrassil, he no longer supports Sylvanas’s decisions.
He decides on a final battle and wants to face the Alliance troops before Undercity alone, to find a death in war and be with his son and ancestors. However, the young troll shaman by his side holds him back and asks him to “live a little longer” – because except for the Horde, they have nothing left.
“Zappy Boy” is also involved. Fans on Reddit are going crazy that “Zappy Boy” has his own role in the cinematic. The young troll shaman can also be seen in the intro cinematic of Battle for Azeroth and has quickly become a meme in the community. That he now plays such an important role alongside Saurfang is for the fans like a heavenly revelation.
Cortyn says: Another goosebumps cinematic from Blizzard, completely unexpected and of such high quality. It may very well be the first time that a WoW expansion gets two very long videos in CGI quality. Hats off for that – now Saurfang has definitely become a little more likable. Also, the horde players who no longer support Sylvanas should be somewhat appeased; not everyone is a supporter of the war chief.
What do you think of this cinematic? How did you like it?
