Services are disappearing from the World of Warcraft shop, and this indicates when the next patch is likely to be released.
World of Warcraft frequently introduces new items in the game’s shop every few weeks, which usually causes dissatisfaction among some fans. However, the permanent disappearance of offers or services is a rarity. But that’s exactly what will happen in a few weeks, as two services will be permanently removed from the shop.
The latest trailer for The War Within:
What will be removed from the shop? Two services that were previously available for purchase in the World of Warcraft shop will soon be removed without replacement. These are:
- Guild realm transfer
- Guild faction change
With these two services, it was possible to either transfer a guild to another server or change a guild’s affiliation to Horde or Alliance.
Why are the services being removed? With “The War Within,” Blizzard is not only revamping accounts through the Warband feature, but guilds will also be revised. In the future, guilds can also be utilized across multiple realms, and characters from both factions can already come together in guilds. More on the features of The War Within can be found here.
In short: Both services in the shop no longer serve a purpose and will therefore be eliminated.
Abolition indicates patch date
However, the date is much more interesting than the abolition of these services. Both services will be shut down on July 22nd. This is just before the weekly maintenance of the American realms.
This leads some people to conclude that the pre-patch 11.0 must be released on July 23rd (or on July 24th in Europe). This timeframe also aligns with the other plans that World of Warcraft has revealed so far:
On July 31st, the pre-event for “The War Within” is supposed to begin. That would also be the latest possible date for the patch. However, a week of lead time, meaning July 24th, seems more likely. This way, all players will have enough time to familiarize themselves with the changes to their classes before the events begin.
