Who buys three Collector’s Editions of the two WoW expansions “The Burning Crusade” and “Wrath of the Lich King” just to forget them still in their original packaging in the attic? There’s now an answer to this question!
Who does something like that? Well, apparently a WoW player with the Reddit name No_Shift1199. They posted a picture showing actually three Collector’s Editions of the WoW expansions “The Burning Crusade” and “Wrath of the Lich King.” Their comment on the picture: “Attic finds during the move.”
For context: Back then, the Collector’s Editions of World of Warcraft were real treasures that many fans gladly displayed somewhere. The TBC version, for example, included besides the expansion a “Behind the Scenes” DVD, a soundtrack CD, a hardcover art book, 2 starter decks for the Trading Card Game, a pet in-game, and a mouse pad.
The contents of the Collector’s Edition of Wrath of the Lich King were similarly noteworthy. While the standard versions cost 40 US dollars, the respective collector boxes were priced at nearly 70 US dollars.
For modern WoW expansions, there are no comparable Collector’s Editions anymore.

How is the community reacting to the find? Several players cannot believe how one can forget something like Collector’s Editions in a half dozen in the attic. Others are primarily interested in: Does No_Shift1199 want to get rid of the bulky boxes now?

No_Shift1199 provides some more context about the find in the discussion. They explain that they had even bought five boxes each of the two expansions because their plan was to “multibox” on multiple accounts. They had learned to appreciate this playstyle in EverQuest. Ultimately, however, they only used two of the Collector’s Editions each (via Reddit): “I was young, single, dumb, and a no-lifer back then.”
