A new patch for World of Warcraft is on the way. We will tell you what is included in update 9.2.7 of Shadowlands.
Even though the 4th season of World of Warcraft Dragonflight has just started, Blizzard has prepared a small patch that brings a few small but nice features. Patch 9.2.7 will likely please auction house fans and also help those who are annoyed by boosting spam.
What is included in the patch? Actually just three features, but they could have some impact.
- The auction house is again part of the WoW Companion App
- Browse and view current auctions.
- Make bids and complete instant buys.
- Search for specific auctions.
- Add or remove items from the favorites list.
- View or cancel your own auctions.
- Crafting and everyday items will now be traded region-wide in the auction house. You can buy and sell materials from other realms.
- A new chat channel for searching and offering services such as raids, dungeons, or PvP activities: Trade (Services).
This channel is basically for selling and searching for boosting offers. Anyone who wants to drag other players through content for gold to grant them achievements, gear, or mounts now has a designated channel for that.
The advantage is that other areas, such as the LFG tool, will no longer be bombarded with such requests, and everyone who is not interested can simply hide the channel.
Last but not least, the classic trade channel should be used again for items and professions.
There will be no changes to the previous rules on boosting.
It is quite possible that the patch contains a few “hidden” or undocumented changes, but nothing is known about that so far. The patch notes are therefore rather sparse and only contain the two points mentioned above.
When will the patch be released? Patch 9.2.7 goes live on August 17, 2022, meaning it will be coming next week with maintenance on Wednesday.
Is there more to come before Dragonflight? This seems rather unlikely. Only the pre-patch 10.0, which is expected to be released a few weeks before the official release of Dragonflight, will be released beforehand. A patch 9.3 is currently not planned. However, there are already hints that with the pre-patch you will be able to play a Dracthyr Evoker – as they recently received a covenant ability and even legendary items in the alpha that can be used in the regions of Shadowlands.
What do you think about the introduction of a “boosting” channel? Is it the right solution to limit spam? Or should that all be prohibited?
