With a new NPC, you can now buy legendary items in World of Warcraft – for just 500 gold. At least, if you meet a requirement.
The fact that many good items in World of Warcraft cannot be obtained from enemy loot, but can be purchased directly from certain NPCs, is nothing new. However, an NPC was discovered in patch 11.0.7 that even sells legendary items directly – at least if you meet the requirements.
What does the NPC sell? The respective NPC sells you legendary items from the past of World of Warcraft. Items like “Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker” or “Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest” can be found in this offer. The items cost only a modest 500 gold pieces each – about what you can earn from a good world quest.
The catch: You must have obtained these legendary items in the past. So you must either have completed the original questline or made the significant farming effort for the items. This is not a shortcut to these items. Among the sold items are:
- Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker
- Warglaive of Azzinoth
- Thori’dal, Fury of the Stars
- Val’anyr, Hammer of the Ancient Kings
- Shadowmourne
- Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest
- Golad, Twilight of the Aspects / Tiriosh, Nightmare of the Ages
- The legendary cloaks from Pandaria
- Ashra’kamas, Shroud of Resolve
- Rae’shalare, Whisper of Death
- Nasz’uro, the Unfettered Legacy
- Fyr’alath, the Dreamrender
If you have destroyed or otherwise lost the legendary items in the past, you can get them back here for the small price of 500 gold and thus prove to all your fellow players that you have earned some of the rarest items in the game.
Where can you find the NPC? The relevant NPCs can be found in Orgrimmar and Stormwind among the Ethereals – that is, the shops for transmogification and the Void bank. Seeker Najed (Stormwind) and Seeker Ke’rath (Orgrimmar) sell you old legendary items that you may have misplaced in the past.
Does this make the character stronger? No. The legendary items are large rewards from the past. None of the legendary items have any relevance in the current expansion The War Within regarding the power they bestow on the character. The vendor is therefore simply for all nostalgia fans who want to hold their legendary items from old days in their hands again because they somehow “misplaced” them.
So if you have someone in your guild who has always bragged about having “had all the legendaries back in the day,” but then “threw them away while cleaning up for the next addon” – you can now put that to the test, whether that’s really true.
