Today, on December 7th, Blizzard has released a new patch for WoW Dragonflight. This changes how much experience you gain from the new professions and also brings numerous adjustments to classes as well as bug fixes.
What kind of method is this? Since Dragonflight, you have been awarded a significant amount of experience points for crafting items. The method is so effective, that the fastest players have reached level 70 through crafting.
When you craft a recipe for the first time as a crafting profession, like a blacksmith or jeweler, you earn about as much experience as for a quest. However, Blizzard has restricted how often this works in the latest patch.
How is crafting being nerfed? Previously, you received the “First Craft” bonus for up to 60 recipes. Now, with the patch from December 7th, this only applies to 30 recipes. This change was made because, according to Blizzard, too many players had learned crafting professions just for leveling and then unlearned them.
For the average player, the nerf shouldn’t make much of a difference if you’re only using one crafting profession. However, for those looking to power level, one of the best leveling methods has now become worse. You can find more tips for leveling faster in Dragonflight on MeinMMO.
Professions have been greatly adjusted with Dragonflight and now even have talents. We show you how to skill professions faster in WoW. In the video, you can find an overview of the changes to the system:

What else is in the patch: Along with the nerf of professions, there are also adjustments to classes. This includes buffs for 3 underpowered classes and nerfs for 2 overpowered. Furthermore, numerous bugs have been addressed, such as:
- Soaked clumps of Darkmoon cards and card bundles: Dragon Isles should no longer crash your game
- Fishing holes should now correctly be available for all players with a renown level of 4 with the Iskaara Tuskarr
- Some display errors and other bugs. You can find the complete patch notes in the English WoW forum
During the night, there were further adjustments made. For example, it has been fixed how much loot you receive in the siege of the Dragonflucht Fortress. It is possible to collect strong loot multiple times a day.
Some players took advantage of this to quickly finish the event one after the other through the group finder tool and thus collect multiple loot bags.
Next week, likely on December 14th, Season 1 of Dragonflight will start, along with the first raid and the mythic Keystone dungeons. If you are not satisfied with your class, or if you want to play another twink, you still have plenty of time to do so. We help you decide:
