With World of Warcraft Dragonflight, Blizzard has really put in a lot of effort to hide many things in the game world of the Dragon Isles. The “Secret Finding” community is working on more than a dozen secrets – and some of them have already been solved.
We will guide you step by step on how to get the awesome mount “Otto the Otter”. The colleagues from wowhead have already turned this into a guide that we certainly do not want to withhold from you.
Get your fishing rod ready, because it will be a long, fishy journey!
Step 1: The toy “Water Schema”
As the first step, you need to earn the toy “Water Schema”. You can buy it in the realms of Ohn’ahra from “The Great Flunk” – a huge frog sitting in a cave at coordinates 82 / 72.
However, the toy is not available for gold, but in exchange for a “Gold Coin of the Isles”. A gold coin is a super-rare drop that you can get while fishing anywhere on the Dragon Isles.
But don’t worry, you can farm the coin much more reliably. You will find the “Silver Coin of the Isles” more frequently while fishing, and even more frequently the “Copper Coin of the Isles”.
- 15 “Copper Coins of the Isles” can be exchanged for 1 “Silver Coin of the Isles”.
- 5 “Silver Coins of the Isles” can be exchanged for 1 “Gold Coin of the Isles”.
In case of doubt, you need a total of 75 copper coins of the isles to be able to buy a gold coin in the end. This will likely mean several hours of fishing work.
Once you have the gold coin, buy the “Flawless Flunk Treasure Bag” from “The Great Flunk”. The first one definitely contains the toy “Water Schema” that you can immediately add to your collection.
Step 2: Dance until death!
Now travel to the Coast of Awakening and to the sea “behind” the Obsidian Citadel. At coordinates 20 / 36, you will find a small inn underwater. This is an underwater bar. Use the “Water Schema” and then proceed to the bar’s dance floor.
Your character will automatically begin to dance and receive the debuff “Dance, dance until death”.
Now you need to be patient. Wait until the debuff on the dance floor expires, so your character will pass out. Your character will then wake up safely above the bar right next to a barrel.
Click the barrel to receive an “Empty Fish Barrel”.
Step 3: More fishing
With the fish barrel in your inventory, it’s back to fishing. You need to fish a total of 3 different types of fish that you can now find.
- 100 Icy Flatfish – You will get these in the Azure Mountains at all open waters. It may take a while to gather the fish, so you need some patience. Use the barrel as soon as you have 100 of these fish to receive a “Half-Filled Fish Barrel”.
- 25 Catastrophic Carp – You can fish these from the lava around the Obsidian Citadel. Use the fish barrel again to now receive a “Full Fish Barrel”.
- 1 Kingfin, the Wise Catfish – You can fish this in the waters by the Academy of Alg’ethar, preferably at the small dock. Use the barrel again to now receive an “Overflowing Fish Barrel”.
Step 4: Otto the Otter
In the final step, travel back to the Coast of Awakening and enter the place where you woke up after your dance escapades (Coast of Awakening, 20 / 40). Here you can place the full barrel back at its original location.
Now “Otto” appears and offers you a quest. Accept the quest, complete it, and you’ll have the coolest otter from World of Warcraft – just like you, he wears sunglasses!
