Elf players in World of Warcraft rejoice. From now on, you can play Dark Rangers – a dream of many WoW fans has been fulfilled.
There are some wishes that players in World of Warcraft have been longing for many years. Especially hunters have long desired to roam through World of Warcraft as Dark Rangers. This longing has now been “casually” fulfilled by Blizzard. From now on, you can roam Azeroth as “Dark Rangers”. Some new customizations allow you to create truly dark elves.
If you want to unlock the Dark Rangers, we have a detailed guide for you here.
What are Dark Rangers? From a story perspective, Dark Rangers were night, high, or blood elf hunters who have died. They were forced back into their bodies through necromancy and have a visually distinct design.
For a long time, they were essentially Sylvanas’ elite fighters, consisting of former high elves, before in Battle for Azeroth night elves were also turned into Dark Rangers.
By the way, the original Dark Rangers were banshees (a type of “ghost” of the Scourge), who later took over their bodies again. More recent Dark Rangers, however, were not banshees.
Other rare things from World of Warcraft would be these mounts – do you know them yet?
Which races can do this? All “classic” elf races can select the new customizations for “Dark Ranger”, namely:
- Night Elves
- Blood Elves
- Void Elves
By the way, the customization is not limited to hunters, but all classes except demon hunters and death knights can access the new customizations. This means primarily a pale, undead skin as well as the characteristic red eyes.
How to unlock Dark Rangers? To unlock the new customizations, you simply need to complete a relatively short quest line at level 60. It starts in Oribos with Genn Greymane and should be offered to you directly in Oribos. If that’s not the case, you may not have completed the current campaign in Zereth Mortis yet.
You can unlock it right now, as patch 9.2.5 is live.
Hunters get a new armor set: As a special bonus for hunters, there’s even an exclusive armor set, which allows you not only to look like Dark Rangers, but also to wear the appropriate clothing. The armor set visually corresponds to the dark rangers that were primarily encountered in Battle for Azeroth.
Have you already unlocked the Dark Rangers? What do you think of this customization?
