We now know when Legion Remix starts and thus also the new patch of World of Warcraft. All information is available here.
Patch 11.2.5 is eagerly awaited in World of Warcraft. This is not due to new content for the current expansion “The War Within”, but rather a temporary game mode that is finally coming. “WoW Legion Remix” was announced a long time ago and now there are only a few days left until we can finally play. Blizzard has not only announced the release date, but also revealed when the individual phases will start.
After Legion Remix, it won’t be long until Midnight…
When does Legion Remix start? The start date for Legion Remix is October 8, 2025, which is in 3 weeks. The launch for the individual phases is as follows:
- October 22: Rise of the Nightfallen – Return to Karazhan, Nightfortress, Suramar Campaign
- November 5: Legion’s Judgment – Broken Shore, Cathedral of Eternal Night
- November 19: Eternal Argus – Argus, Throne of the Triumvirate, Antorus
- December 10: Echoes of Eternity – Catch-up mechanics, Remix content updates, and more rewards
What does Legion Remix have to offer?
Why should you play Legion Remix? Legion Remix is worth it for several reasons. On one hand, it’s a great opportunity to experience one of the best expansions of WoW if you missed it back then. The campaign and the story of the class order hall are incredibly well done and worth a look for anyone who didn’t experience them.
However, the much greater appeal is the sheer amount of cosmetic rewards that you can earn. With different vendors, there are hundreds of transmog rewards, mounts, toys, and even some items for the soon-to-be-launched housing feature.
Finally, there are also many new features that differ from the classic Legion experience. Character progression is drastically increased, there is much more obtainable character power than before, and even a heroic world mode that allows for even tougher challenges.
What are the phases about? Unlike Mists of Pandaria Remix, Legion Remix has phases. These phases are intended to reflect the release order of the original Legion patches. So at the beginning, there are only the original contents of Legion, but gradually more areas will come – such as the Broken Shore, the campaign in Suramar with the Nightwell, or even Argus with the final raid. Associated rewards will also be unlocked in later phases.
This decision has been met with mixed feelings in the community. Some are excited that the original Legion experience is being recreated, while others find it frustrating that a time-limited event adds extra time-gating for content.
Whether Legion Remix can achieve a similar success as Mists of Pandaria Remix did back in the day, or if it will be a disastrous crash landing, we will likely only find out in a few weeks when the game mode hits the servers and we get more extensive live feedback from the community. Already on the test server, it took a huge community outcry for Blizzard to fix the worst bugs.
