How did the first hours in Legion go? Were there major problems at the launch of the World of Warcraft expansion? Cortyn reports after a long night.
16 hours of Legion, 16 hours of expectations fulfilled
Okay, okay. I exaggerated. Since the servers allowed access to the Broken Isles just before midnight, I have been roaming those islands and have completed 4 out of 5 zones in the meantime. World of Warcraft really got me hooked again at the launch of Legion, and unfortunately, my whole environment has to suffer because of it (work included: Hi, Schuhmann).
Even though there were some issues along the way, this was for me the most successful and smoothest launch of an expansion ever. There were no long queues for quests or obstacles in phasing. From level 100 to 108, I encountered only one problem, and that was the fatigue of my not-so-loyal partner, who unfortunately threw in the towel just after 3:00 AM.
Right here, I was able to benefit from the new systems of Legion: The zone Azsuna was put on hold, and I simply moved on to Val’Sharah to gather enough artifact power for my weapon and to level up a few stages. Nearly 7 hours later, my colleague was awake again, and the questing continued – I at level 107 and he still at level 101. The new scaling system ensures that the battles and rewards remain worthwhile for both players. Since everyone has different amounts of free time, this system builds new bridges and ensures that no one has to feel guilty for not having time or for having advanced ahead.
I could probably talk about this for hours, but I notice that my overtired words are already becoming confusing. For the evening planning, the first steps in Suramar are still on today’s agenda so that I can finally make some nice eyes at the First Arcanist of the Nightborne – at least until sleep forces me to bed.
Tomorrow I will take the time to put a test on paper that should be up here by the evening at the latest. Until then: Have fun in Legion and take some demons to the grave!
How did you perceive the launch and how far are you in leveling now? Are you taking your time, or do you want to reach level 110 as quickly as possible to focus on raid preparation?
P.S: By the time you read this, it is probably past 8 PM… I wish you a good night.
