Blizzard is addressing more issues in World of Warcraft Classic. These are bugs that have persisted in the game for quite some time.
World of Warcraft Classic has undergone many changes, even though it is supposed to be “just” an old game. Several bugs from the past or unnoticed bugs have been fixed in recent months. This usually happened when errors led to significant problems that made fair play nearly impossible. Now, however, Blizzard is taking a tougher stance and is fixing issues that don’t have a large negative impact.
What is it about? It concerns a Shaman talent in the Enhancement tree. The talent “Improved Weapon Totems” increases the melee attack power granted by the “Totem of Wrath” by 30%. This bonus should apply to both the Shaman and their group members – but it simply doesn’t.
Blizzard intends to fix this issue in a coming update. And this is despite the fact that this error was initially resolved with Burning Crusade. The (faulty) behavior in Classic also corresponds to what was the case back in the Vanilla version of WoW.
Blizzard has announced that they will also address “other problems that were similarly buggy in original WoW.”
“No Changes” has not existed for a long time: It is clear that Blizzard moved away from the “#NoChanges” philosophy a long time ago, which a small group of players has demanded since the beta of Classic. However, it has become evident that classic WoW simply cannot exist without some changes. This is primarily due to the fact that player knowledge spreads much faster and stronger now, and some unwanted mechanics have been exploited on a large scale. Some of these bugs were:
- Adjustments to the Alterac Valley
- Fire Mage bug with Incinerates made Mages nearly unstoppable
- The spawn rates and spawn points for Black Lotus have been changed
