Secret messages in World of Warcraft: Priests are again hearing messages from Xal’atath.
Xal’atath is the current antagonist in World of Warcraft Midnight and continually presents challenges to players. However, one class keeps receiving little treats from the Shadow Mommy – the priests. The current raid “The Void Pinnacle” is no exception, as shadow priests can receive a special message from Xal’atath that other classes cannot see.
What is this message about? When you as a shadow priest journey through the current raid “The Void Pinnacle”, it may happen that you suddenly see a message from Xal’atath in your chat:
“You never truly let me go, did you?”
In English, that is roughly: “You never really let me go, did you?”
With this, Xal’atath references the shared past of the priest and herself. This ties very well into her story. After all, when Xal’atath was still a dagger, she passed through the hands of many owners – and most of them met a grim fate. We are one of the few survivors, and therefore Xal’atath suspects that we are still attached to her and the power she gave us.
Does this happen often? Yes. The connection between the priest hero and Xal’atath is quite significant – after all, it was the priest who made the blade reappear in Legion. This was the starting point for Xal’atath and her role in the current story. Especially at the end of the original campaign of The War Within, there was once again a special appreciation from Xal’atath – implying that one was on her side, continued to work for her while betraying all other mortals.
Therefore, it is not surprising that Blizzard has incorporated a small recognition for the priest in the latest raids again if they had a special connection to Xal’atath. After all, one does not really get rid of the blade.
When it comes to special dialogues that only certain characters can hear, there are already quite a few in Midnight. Voidwalkers talk to their warlocks and a Draenei from a great quest line even shows solo how much love is actually in the expansion Midnight.
