Hunters in World of Warcraft can tame a new category of pets. However, how to unlock this was quite absurd and caused frustration, as they had to leave their raid group.
Update: There has now been a hotfix in time for Christmas. The “Blood-Soaked Tome of Dark Whispers” is now a guaranteed drop from Zul on Heroic in the Uldir raid. Hunters no longer have to leave the fight using their hearthstone!
Original report: Last night (December 22, 2018), an incident in World of Warcraft first brought joy and then frustration. Players from the “WoW Secret Finding” Discord server finally discovered how hunters can obtain the “Blood-Soaked Tome of Dark Whispers”.
Shortly after, Blizzard explained: This is not intended.
What does the Tome bring? The Blood-Soaked Tome of Dark Whispers allows hunters to tame a new category of animals. This enables them to also include blood beasts in their stable.
These blood beasts can primarily be found in Nazmir, where the nasty creatures are used as servants and battle beasts by the Blood Trolls.
This is how you could get the Tome: To obtain the tome, hunters had to join a heroic raid group, go to Uldir, and start the fight against Zul. Now they had to use their hearthstone during the fight and leave the battle – unfortunately, this is no joke.
After the rest of the raid had killed Zul, they received the tome and could then learn how to tame blood beasts.
Blizzard reports: This is a bug! After the Discord community reported the find to Blizzard, Jeremy “Muffinus” Feasel, who is responsible for many puzzles, tweeted clarity: The discovered method is not the intended way to be able to tame blood beasts.
The tome is supposed to be obtained in another way. It is therefore likely that Blizzard sees this method as an exploit. It is not recommended to replicate.
Players are confused and angry: It is not surprising that players consider this a bad joke. After all, hunters are encouraged to leave their group in the middle of the fight. A risk that many raid leaders will not tolerate and will categorically exclude hunters. The fact that this is a bug does not make the situation any better.
Most players assume that a fix will be implemented soon. Those who want to tame blood beasts as hunters until then either have to leave their group or have a very considerate raid group.
