Hunters are the worst class in WoW Classic HC – at least when you look at their deaths. They have died more frequently than anyone else.
World of Warcraft Classic has especially celebrated remarkable success with the “Hardcore” version. The game mode is still quite popular, and anyone looking at the official HC realms will find players at every level – no wonder, as many often have to start over. How often, that has now been published by Blizzard in a small infographic.
The frequency of deaths for the various classes: Via the X-Account (formerly Twitter), Blizzard has published a small statistic indicating how often players in WoW Classic Hardcore have met their demise. Keep in mind that each death represents the permanent end of a character – as there are no revivals here.
The leaders of the statistics are clearly the hunters. More than 400,000 of them have bitten the digital dust and died alongside their companions (and due to a lack of arrows).
At the bottom of the statistics are paladins and shamans – which seems logical as both classes can only be found with the Alliance or only with the Horde.
Why do hunters die so often? While one can certainly bring up the old meme of “hunters can do nothing,” there is likely another reason. Hunters are generally considered one of the easiest classes to level in the “Hardcore” mode of WoW Classic. This is due to several factors, because:
- Hunters have a companion (pet) that can absorb damage.
- Hunters can run faster themselves and slow down enemies, thus escaping well.
- Hunters can feign death and thus avoid almost all fights.
This combination ensures that hunters are fundamentally a good choice to take on the challenge of a hardcore character. Accordingly, it is likely that simply more hunters have been created.
Which class did you play in WoW Classic HC? And how many hunters have you let die in the process?
How amusing it is to see some rush to their death is shown in this clip.
