Finally, more is being tied to the Warcraft war mobs – old reputation factions are coming back. The first step is an unpopular expansion.
With the end of Dragonflight, Blizzard introduced the new feature of “war mobs.” It was advertised that many unlocks on the account would be consolidated. What one character has achieved should be available to many other characters as well.
In part, Blizzard has directly implemented this – albeit only for the (then) current content of Dragonflight and the latest expansion The War Within. With the next patch, the feature will finally be expanded.
What’s coming with Patch 11.1.5? Blizzard is keeping its promise and has begun incorporating “old” reputation factions into the war mob system. They are likely starting with the expansion Shadowlands – the last addon before “Dragonflight.” Many of the Shadowlands reputation factions are already tied to the war mob as “account-wide” on the PTR of Patch 11.1.5.
According to MrGM, the reputation factions from Shadowlands that will be account-wide so far (via X):
- Ve’nari
- The Ascended
- Court of Night
- The Wild Hunt
- Death’s Advance
- The Archivists’ Codex
- The Enlightened
As it stands, your account seems to take the progress of the character that is furthest along with a respective faction – but this could still change.
What does this bring? The covenants and their associated reputation factions were already a thorn in the side of many players back then. Farming anima, reputation, and often other resources to unlock cosmetic items was very exhausting and cumbersome at that time.
With the reputation change, it should now be significantly easier to meet all desired goals on one character – or to switch if one prefers to do something with another class.
Patch 11.1.5 also brings back a feature that is infamous in the World of Warcraft community: The Disturbing Visions are coming back, and they even bring back the Corruption effects!
