Patch 10.0 for World of Warcraft is here, marking the arrival of the new expansion Dragonflight. MeinMMO reveals what changes await you.
The key points at a glance:
- After planned maintenance, the new patch went live at 11 AM on October 26.
- Patch 10.0 introduces new talent trees for all classes as well as a completely revamped interface.
- The major pre-event for Dragonflight, the Elemental Invasions, will start later. The new class, the Dracthyr Evoker, is also not yet playable.
Shortly before Patch 10.0, Blizzard released the first part of the short film series “Legacies”.
What’s included in the patch? The patch aims to introduce you to some of the major features of Dragonflight, including the completely revamped talent system. However, there are also some limitations.
Set bonuses from Shadowlands, for example, are virtually removed; they have no effect in combat anymore. Blizzard decided on this drastic step because the new talents change so much that they could lead to a significant imbalance when combined with the sets.
Shortly before the pre-patch, on the evening of October 25, the new short film series “Legacies” also launched. This series showcases the story of Dragonflight and the Dracthyr. Here you can watch the first part:

These are the highlights: Blizzard has posted the official patch notes in German on the official blog. We will list the highlights here once again:
- New talents will be available and offer “beginner builds” if you feel overwhelmed by the options. Talents can be switched and even shared at the push of a button.
- Mages, priests, and rogues will be made playable for all races.
- The UI will be revised. You can move almost every element or combine bags. This will save you the need for many addons.
- New achievements for collecting mounts and pets have been introduced.
- “Resurrection Sickness” now lasts only 1 minute.
- Defeated enemies count for up to 5 players from both factions.
Additionally, all 3 Shadowlands raids will be active in their “Fated” mode simultaneously, allowing you to experience everything again in the weeks leading up to the release of Dragonflight. The “Fated” mechanic is one of the highlights of Season 4, even praised by the critic Bellular:
What’s next? The pre-patch is divided into 2 phases. The first phase is online, with the second starting on November 16. The release of Dragonflight is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, at 12:00 AM.
On November 16, the pre-event will also kick off, allowing you to quickly gather powerful gear for new characters if you want to switch classes. Additionally, the Dracthyr Evokers will be playable from then on. The new class relies on mail armor, fights at distances of up to 30 meters, and can cast spells and heal. In the beta, MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus had a lot of fun with the Evoker:
