Furorion or Sabellian? This is a question many players are currently asking in WoW Dragonflight or are diligently farming reputation with Obsidian keys. MeinMMO explains what you gain from reputation, who you should choose, and how reputation actually works.
Should I farm reputation with Furorion or Sabellian? As soon as you reach level 70 in Dragonflight and unlock world quests, you will receive the quest “All for One”. There you are to pledge loyalty to Furorion or Sabellian at the Obsidian Throne on the Coast of Awakening.
To answer the most important question directly: It doesn’t make a big difference who you choose here. The other dragon will not be angry with you or will be only slightly upset; you will just receive a boost in reputation for one of the two sides.
However, you can farm reputation with both dragons simultaneously; they do not exclude each other. In addition, you will be able to pledge your loyalty again each week. So choose the dragon that you like more.

Farming reputation with Furorion and Sabellian – Here’s how
How do I farm reputation? Once you have pledged loyalty to one of the two dragons, you will have access to special and repeatable quests at the Obsidian Citadel. There you will have to kill the Djaradin running around there, collect items, or complete other tasks.
Your most important means for reputation are Restored Obsidian Keys. You craft such a key from 3 key shapes and 30 key fragments. You can find these items from all mobs in the area.
Usually, you can find entire raids in the group search that farm in the citadel all day long. Although the drop chance has been reduced, there are still enough groups (via wowhead).
You must deliver the first key to the dragon you have sworn loyalty to for the week. All others afterward can be distributed freely to farm reputation. This will grant you access to the rewards from the respective vendors as well as special events.
What rewards are there? The reputation with the dragons is divided into 6 levels. You need 8,400 reputation each time to level up. Each key grants 250 reputation with the respective dragon and 50 reputation with the Valdrakken Accord. The most important rewards can be obtained from both dragons:
- Ensemble: Obsidian Dracthyr Chain Armor (cosmetic chain set)
- Claw of the Obsidian Watcher (cosmetic fist weapon)
- Onyx Dragonflame Blade (cosmetic one-handed sword)
- Obsidian Collar (389 neck item with Critical Strike/Mastery)
- Obsidian Cape (389 cloak with Haste/Versatility)
- cosmetic adjustments for all 4 dragons from the Dragonriding feature
If you want the strong items, you should initially focus on Furorion or Sabellian. Both dragons also offer additional cosmetic rewards and special events.

Reputation with Furorion (Wrathion) – Here are the rewards
- Wardrobe of Endless Cloaks (toy)
- Obsidian Protowelp (pet)
- Saber of the Obsidian Watcher (cosmetic one-handed sword)
- Obsidian Wing Glaive (cosmetic glaive)
- Staff of the Obsidian Wing Guardian (cosmetic polearm)
- Staff of the Obsidian Claim Carver (cosmetic staff)
- Scepter of the Obsidian Claim Worker (cosmetic offhand)
After delivering 20 keys, Furorion opens the barrier deep in the citadel and starts the event “Cleaning the Vault.” There you will find the special Rare Mob Shas’ith. You do not have to deliver all the keys yourself; they count phase-wide.
Reputation with Sabellian – Here are the rewards
- Obsidian Snowflake (toy)
- Ensemble: Sabellian’s Battle Cloth Armor (cosmetic cloth set)
- Boarding Saber of the Obsidian Watcher (cosmetic one-handed sword)
- Barrier of the Obsidian Watcher (cosmetic shield)
- Staff of the Obsidian Claim Worker (cosmetic staff)
- Skull Splitter of the Obsidian Watcher (cosmetic two-handed axe)
- Staff of the Obsidian Wing Guardian (cosmetic polearm)
After delivering 20 keys, Sabellian prepares the defense and starts the event “Shadow of Death,” where you can kill the Rare Mob of the same name. You do not have to deliver all the keys yourself; they count phase-wide.

Farming Obsidian Keys – Here’s what they bring you
You can also hand in the keys to two other characters who are not directly related to Sabellian or Furorion: Blacksmith Master Bezentus and Igys the Faithful. Here you receive 75 reputation for both dragons and 50 with the Valdrakken Accord.
Additionally, the two characters already open a special event with 10 keys:
- Bezentus: starts the quest “Bending Answers,” where you are to kill enemies with a special weapon. Provides 100 reputation with Furorion and Sabellian each.
- Igys: summons the Rare Mob Morchok, which you can kill for 100 reputation with Furorion and Sabellian each, as well as special loot.
