In WoW Classic HC you can easily lose your character. However, playing a second character during a dungeon run takes a lot of courage.
WoW Classic Hardcore has been live for a few weeks now, and numerous players have already found an unexpected end on their way to the maximum level. Alone in the first weekend countless heroes of Azeroth met an ignoble death.
But while such early deaths are still bearable, a later demise is much more bitter. Especially at level 60, where you have invested many days into the character, dying hurts particularly.
It gets even more painful when death results from one’s own mistakes, like in the case of the streamer Graysfordays.
Twitch streamer is on the second account when it happens
What happened? The streamer Graysfordays was apparently not occupied enough with just one character in WoW Classic HC. While he was with a group in the dungeon “Upper Blackrock Spire,” he was also playing a new night elf on a second account on the side.
Suddenly panic sets in. While he plays his night elf, he hears the dreaded sound of hatching dragon whelps and switches to his main account. He sees how the hunter pet has entered the dreaded dragon egg room, which also produced the legendary “Leeroy Jenkins” meme.

Graysfordays transforms into a bear to increase his chances of survival and fight against the whelps. However, the whole group is not in the same room as him and is excluded.
Panic slowly builds as his health points tick down.
While the group tries to support Graysfordays, they fail to cast spells through the closed gate or intervene in the fight in any other way. In panic, he shouts, “DO SOMETHING” – meaning “Do something!” Graysfordays dies – just a few hours before he wanted to participate in the first “Molten Core” hardcore run.
Especially bitter: If Graysfordays had simply remained in stealth, he would probably have survived the incident, as until then only the hunter pet had attracted attention. Only the transformation into a bear revealed Graysfordays and caused the dragon whelps to attack him as well.
“Disrespectful to teammates”
This is how the community reacts: The general mood in the community can best be summed up with “He deserved it.” Most can hardly believe that someone would still play a second character during a dungeon visit. That would not only be negligent and dangerous to one’s own character, but also simply disrespectful to the other 9 players. Some opinions from the corresponding Reddit post:
- “The best part is that it looks like everything would have been fine if he had just stayed in stealth.”
- “Tabbing out to level a character below level 10 while running a dungeon? Deserved.”
- “Looks like both of his characters died. DO SOMETHING!”
A lesson that the streamer apparently learned – because in retrospect, he realized that it was solely his fault.
