In the Sauercrowd guild of the German Twitch scene, a meeting took place once again to discuss the upcoming times in WoW Classic Hardcore. It was about the first raid and a careless statement from Metashi.
What did Metashi apologize for? After the unfortunate death of his first warrior just before reaching level 60, Metashi quickly created a new hardcore character for WoW Classic. However, it was evident that the streamer had difficulty coping with the loss.
On January 21, 2026, Metashi explained during his stream that he would likely switch to Burning Crusade Classic after another hardcore loss. That’s not exactly a statement you want to hear from the guild leadership. Accordingly, concern was great afterward among various Sauercrowd members.
How did Metashi apologize? At the latest guild meeting of Sauercrowd, the date for the first raid in the Molten Core was on the agenda. However, before HandOfBlood revealed the plan, Metashi took the floor.
I wanted to apologize to all the listeners for having acted somehow very very very very foolishly in the position I am in. Because I was so affected by the death of my warrior, as that really hit me very very very hard. So I completely emotionally said in the stream: Yes, if the next character dies, I’m out.
Many people became worried afterwards and said: Hey, I think that’s a shame. And I just wanted to give you all the assurance while you listen to me: If this character dies, I’ll be in the starting area 10 seconds later and will go in again. […]
I can assure you, I will stick around. […] I promise you that I will be side by side with you in the Molten Core. I will also level Cooking to 300. I will also level Fishing to 300. We will carry through what we have started together until the end. I promise you that. […]
I have never planned such a big event, I have never had so much weight in my voice. And I just said what I shouldn’t have said. So: You can count on me. Apologies for this faux pas. We will stand like a wall, we will remain like a wall.

Preparation is everything
What is known about the first raid of Sauercrowd? The guild leadership of HandOfBlood, Metashi, and Papaplatte is now targeting Sunday in three weeks for the first raid in the Molten Core – that’s February 15. However, the date may change depending on the number of level 60 characters alive at that time, who are ready for a trip into the lair of Ragnaros.
It is also clear that adequate preparations should be made in advance to ensure that the raid doesn’t end at the first pull. The guild leadership is placing a large focus on farming potions, elixirs, and buff food. In combination with World Buffs, this can achieve the greatest increase in character strength.
Farming what is known as pre-raid BIS equipment (the best possible gear that can be obtained outside of the raid) helps, but should not be mandatory.
Furthermore, HandOfBlood explained that they want to take a healthy mix of WoW newcomers and raid veterans into the raid. Each participant is expected to review gameplay from MC beforehand to understand how best to play their class there. They anticipate a run through the core that could take seven or eight hours.
Hänno emphasizes that they need a very large bank of players, as there will be several more character deaths in the Molten Core or on the way there.
If all goes well, he can certainly imagine continuing after the Molten Core and going with the guild to Zul’Gurub, the Burning Steppes, or Ahn’Qiraj. A first milestone for this has currently been reached by the streamer: HandOfBlood reaches an important milestone for Sauercrowd, but celebrates something completely different: “I didn’t expect that”
