A hero of the Alliance from World of Warcraft becomes a supervillain. This requires a lot of stamina – and also a bit too much time.
Anyone who wants to have a high rank in PvP in World of Warcraft Classic must be really disciplined. Playing PvP every day and grinding honor is part of it – but there’s also something else. Because at the same time, one must avoid dishonorable kills as they significantly harm the PvP rank.
However, there is also a player who has earned rank 14 – only to become the ultimate villain afterward.
What did the player do? In the WoW Classic subreddit, the player ineedtoknow1800 shared a screenshot of his PvP achievements, and they are impressive – because he is an absolute villain.
In the meantime, he has accumulated more than 10,000 dishonorable kills, alone 454 on the day of the screenshot.
Dishonorable kills occur in WoW when you kill NPCs of the opposing faction that are marked as “civilians”. These NPCs are not a threat and are usually quest givers, meaning they are quite important for hostile characters. But that seemed to be the incentive, as in response to a question from another player about why he kills NPCs, he replies:
“Raiding and leveling is just killing NPCs. This forces real PvP in the open world and slows down the Horde’s leveling. This is the most fun I’ve had in this game in a long time.”
But it’s not only the sheer elimination of enemy NPCs that is impressive, but also the fact that the player previously held the rank of Grand Marshal – meaning the legendary “Rank 14”, where one has to play nearly permanently PvP for many weeks.
He has basically made a 180° turn, going from an honorable champion of the Alliance to a dishonorable killer whose joy comes from ruining the daily lives of the opposing faction while questing.
After all, such actions ensure that the frustrated Horde characters call for their “big friends” – and then an open PvP battle ignites in the game world. That’s exactly what he wanted to achieve.
Community celebrates and fears at the same time: In the comments to this image, it becomes clear that this behavior elicits mixed reactions from the community. For although the achievement is impressive, it also raises some concerns.
- “The guy reminds me of the South Park episode: How can you kill what has no life?” – bernchen
- “If the Horde wins, that guy will be tried by the Stormwind Tribunal and executed for his war crimes.” – Cultural_Sweet_2541
- “Honestly, this is a perfect example of the classic community.” – Whiteshovel66
For retail fans, much of the classic community may seem a bit strange, but the reverse is also true. Because modern WoW is now getting an update that allows you to press just one button to play your entire rotation.
