There are first signs that the beta of World of Warcraft: Classic is on the horizon. We will reveal what is behind it.
Those who can no longer relate to the current World of Warcraft or simply long for a “classic” experience have been looking forward to WoW: Classic for a long time. WoW: Classic is supposed to be released again in summer 2019, so in a few months. Now there are first hints that a beta test could start soon.
Where is the info coming from? The colleagues from wowhead have discovered that a new folder has appeared in Blizzard’s Content Delivery Network. This is called “wow_classic_beta” and clearly refers to a beta test for the classic version of World of Warcraft.
For comparison: The folder for Patch 8.2 appeared in Blizzard’s Content Delivery System about two weeks ago. It took that long for the PTR to become accessible.
What does it mean? In the worst case, this is just an initial preparation that has no major significance. In the best case, it probably means that the beta of WoW: Classic is coming soon and at least initial internal tests should be underway. Whether and when interested players will be able to participate remains to be seen.

Please keep in mind that a timely release of the beta is not guaranteed with this information. Although it is a good indicator that things are moving forward with WoW: Classic, a specific release date for the beta cannot be established.
Are you already excited about the renewed release of World of Warcraft: Classic? Would you participate in a beta test for such an old game again? Or are you waiting for the launch?
