The Championship Season in WoW Classic is coming to an end soon. However, the characters from there are allowed to transfer to the “normal” realms – and that causes problems.
The Championship Season was a project within World of Warcraft Classic that delighted many players. Tougher bosses, faster progression, and a version of WoW Classic that many had wished for – with meaningful innovations. However, the time of the Championship Season is limited and is slowly approaching its end. But what will happen to the characters that were painstakingly leveled and equipped there? They will soon be allowed to change realms – leading to angry fellow players.
These are special realms that basically represent a kind of “Classic+”. They are realms with the WoW Classic version, but some adjustments have been made to improve the gameplay experience and offer a greater challenge. There are more experience points when leveling, but bosses in raids are also tougher and prevent players from bringing especially powerful buffs from the outside world.
What has Blizzard said now? The developers have announced what will happen with the characters of the Championship Season when the season ends. These characters will then have a choice and can transfer for free:
- To a Classic Era realm.
- To a Wrath of the Lich King Classic realm.
So the characters are not stuck in the Championship Season forever – as many players initially assumed – but can leave the realm at the end and continue playing elsewhere.
What is the problem? Many players see the problem in those currently on the BC realms. They feel threatened in the exclusivity of their titles and achievements. Particularly prestigious titles like the Scarab Lord or Rank 14 in PvP were actually easier to obtain in the Championship Season. Thus, there is a lot of criticism in the official WoW forum.
