Even in WoW Classic, incredible records are being set again and again. A hunter now shows how one can achieve 500% speed at level 1.
Although World of Warcraft is a game known in every detail, especially in the old ‘Classic’ versions, there are always scenes that astonish. Currently, there is a hunter in Cataclysm Classic who fires his bow so quickly that one might think he is using a machine gun.
What is to be seen? In one of his latest videos, Exehn shows some scenes from the current “WoW Cataclysm Classic”. He plays a level 1 hunter and already achieves absurd speeds – namely (at least temporarily) a whopping 500% speed. This allows him to take down enemy players and mobs in seconds, which are actually many levels above him.
His bow actually has a speed of 2.8 – meaning it is fired once every 2.8 seconds. However, the high speed ensures that the bow shoots at 6 times the speed (that is, 500% faster), allowing multiple shots to be fired per second.
How does this work? During the times of Cataclysm, it is possible to apply some enchantments to items that have a very low level. These are actually endgame enchantments that are used later on – but in theory, they can be used at level 1. Thus, one merely needs a lot of gold or a few friendly enchanter friends to help out.
Along with the heirloom equipment, which also has a few points of speed and buffs like the war drums, the hunter can increase his speed to an impressive 500% – allowing him to attack much faster.
In later versions of World of Warcraft, this is no longer or only very limited possible. There, certain enchantments can only be applied once the target item has a certain item level, or the enchantment itself scales with the character’s level.
Exehn is already known for some absurd videos. He has also made a rogue at level 10 so powerful that he wins against a player at level 60 – simply because he perfectly dodges every attack and can never be hit.
Can such values be achieved differently? In a “legal” way, it is nearly impossible to reach these values on a character with a higher level. Because the higher the character level, the more points are needed to achieve the same advantage from a stat. 10 points of “speed” have a much greater effect on a level 1 character than on a level 80 character.
The only legal way to somewhat achieve such values currently is in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria. However, this mode is isolated from the rest of the game world, and it is intended by Blizzard that one is a bit “op” here – but this is only a temporary matter, with the launch of The War Within, the values of all Remix characters will be lowered to a normal level.
