Blizzard is still tinkering with class balance in WoW Dragonflight. In the next round, almost all damage classes, some healers, and even 2 tanks will become stronger. A small setback, however, is for Outlaw Rogues, who are currently “overperforming”.
Here are the buffs: With the next patch, several specializations are set to be buffed. Most of them are at the back of the DPS list of World of Warcraft and will accordingly receive quite significant buffs:
- Feral Druids
- Affliction Warlocks
- Destruction Warlocks
- Survival Hunters
- Fire Mages
- Frost Mages
- Retribution Paladins
- Shadow Priests
For most classes, individual abilities will be buffed. However, the Feral Druid will receive a +3% damage boost on all abilities. The Paladin will even see a buff of a proud +40% on Crusader Strike.
The Devastation Evoker will also be strengthened. Here, some of the strongest AoE abilities of the Evoker will receive a buff, such as Fire Breath, Firestorm, and Deep Breath. Additionally, there are enhancements to other skills and talents. You can find all the buffs in the official forum.
New classes are traditionally “too strong”, which was a major point of criticism, especially for the Death Knight in WotLK. It is rare for a new class to need such strong buffs.

More buffs for Tanks and Healers, Nerf for Rogues
What else is changing? Some abilities of Vengeance Demon Hunters and Brewmaster Monks now reduce the incoming damage of both classes more significantly. Among the healers, Mistweaver Monks and Holy Priests receive a buff on their healing output.
Meanwhile, Outlaw Rogues will face nerfs. They are currently the absolute kings in both raid (heroic mode) and mythic keystone dungeons (via warcraftlogs and bestkeystone, as of January 8).
Here, the talent “Precise Strikes” is being nerfed so that Rogues cannot deal excessive damage in smaller groups of enemies. Additionally, some classes will be adjusted separately in PvP.
The balance adjustments are expected to be implemented on Wednesday, January 11, on European servers. We are keeping an eye on the changes and will update our DPS list accordingly.
Shortly before the adjustments, Blizzard also brought in some other buffs and nerfs via hotfix, but specifically for dungeons – including a rather unnecessary nerf:
