In WoW Burning Crusade Classic players are preparing for Zul’Aman – and a tough time run with a mount awaits.
While the World-First race is raging in “Retail WoW”, players of Burning Crusade Classic are eagerly waiting for the upcoming Wednesday, as the next raid is finally starting: Zul’Aman offers new loot, new bosses, and one of the most exclusive mounts of its time.
A special feature of Zul’Aman is that the raid group is under time pressure. Not only do they have to defeat the various bosses, but they also have to fulfill a secondary objective. Each boss in Zul’Aman has a prisoner who is soon to be executed. Only if a boss is killed will the corresponding prisoner be spared – and the timer is extended by a few minutes to reach the next boss.
Every time a prisoner is rescued, a piece of extra loot is awarded as a reward. If all prisoners can be saved before execution, there is even a mount as a reward: the Amani War Bear.

What makes Zul’Aman so special? Zul’Aman is, just like Karazhan, one of the smaller raids for only 10 players. This allows smaller guilds or raids with fewer players to dive into the encounter. A relatively short reset time also accompanies this, as Zul’Aman resets every 3 days, giving you less than a week to beat the trolls – ideally resulting in loot multiple times a week.
Zul’Aman is considered one of the more popular raids, similar to Zul’Gurub. The bosses have interesting mechanics and with a manageable size of 6 bosses (and the tough timer), the raid can also be easily completed in one evening. The fact that a mount is offered as a reward was still rare in Burning Crusade – this also increases the appeal of this raid.
What else is changing? The Zul’Aman patch also brings several other changes. For example, the loot from Doomlord Kazzak and the Doomwalker will now be soulbound when equipped – thus they can be traded and sold.
Simultaneously, the raids will be adjusted so that all bosses can now drop badges of justice. This should also give primary raid players a chance to obtain some equipment through this means.
Finally, resources like nether residue and nether vortex are no longer soulbound. This should make it significantly easier to craft some of the rare recipes or earn a few extra gold coins in the auction house.
