In World of Warcraft, the last barriers of transmogrification will soon fall. You can finally hide your pants – after years of begging.
Transmogrification is an important matter for many players in World of Warcraft. Dressing up your character in nice clothing is simply enjoyable. The success of WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria underscores this, as you can currently earn several dozen transmogrification sets there.
For a while now, it has been possible to make almost all equipment items invisible through transmogrification. For example, if someone didn’t like the look of big shoulders or found that gloves covered the beautiful jewelry of blood elves, they could simply hide these elements.
This creates many different options to present your character. If someone wants to, they can fight wearing only a shirt and skirt and hide the rest.
But one item could not be hidden until now – pants.
What was the problem with pants? Pants have been restricted in customization until now. While you could always transform leg items into the design of other items, hiding them was not possible until now. There has not been a clear explanation as to why pants specifically could not be hidden.
This is a bit strange anyway, as all characters wear their race-specific underwear under their pants – characters in World of Warcraft are never truly “naked”.
What will change now? With the new expansion “The War Within”, all items in the leg category can finally be hidden. So if you don’t feel like wearing a skirt or plate pants, that’s finally possible.
What does this bring? By hiding the pants, some clothing items will shine through properly. Especially the newly reintroduced robes from Ahn’Qiraj benefit from this. These come with wide slits on the sides for the legs and normally show a lot of skin – which couldn’t be done if one always had to wear pants under the dress. In the future, these transmogs will “function” significantly better.
