Slowly but surely, time is running out in the Shadowlands. And while many World of Warcraft heroes can’t wait to dive into the new expansion “Dragonflight”, some still have a long “To Do” list. Collections need to be completed, or mounts need to be acquired before Shadowlands fades into oblivion.
We’re showing you 5 things you should accomplish before Dragonflight starts – because it won’t be possible or it will be much harder afterward.
1. Unlock Covenant Rewards
No matter what you think of Shadowlands, at least the Covenants were packed with all sorts of rewards. From toys to mountains of transmog to really cool mounts, all collectors should get their fill.
In total, you need several million Anima and numerous other Covenant resources for all the rewards, which you primarily unlock through daily and weekly quests, treasures, and special Covenant features.
Basically, the Covenants will still exist, and you can still collect the rewards afterward. But for those who have some time to kill right now, you can still farm the necessary Anima to grab the last rewards.
Because who wants to return to the Shadowlands later if they don’t have to?
By the way, you’ll also earn a good amount of gold while doing this, because through treasures and missions, you’ll receive plenty of gold that you can surely use in Dragonflight, as crafting there will be important and probably quite expensive.

2. Collect Seasonal Rewards
The last season of Shadowlands runs until October 25, before both PvP and PvE rewards are lost forever. Therefore, now is the last chance to secure various rewards. These include:
- Title “the Veiled” – Mythic Dungeon rating of 1,500
- Mount “Restoration Deathwalker” – Mythic Dungeon rating of 2,000
If you want more, you can unlock a personal teleport to each current dungeon permanently. However, the respective dungeon must be completed on “Mythic+20” within the time limit. Nevertheless, that would be an exclusive reward that very few players possess.
Until the launch of Dragonflight, you can also pick up more rewards in the raids, including:
- Mount “Fractal Cipher of the Carcinized Zereth Stag” – Defeat the Jailor on Heroic or Mythic.
- Mount “Reins of Vengeance” – Defeat Sylvanas on Mythic.
- “Jigglesworth Sr.” – a corrupted cat mount for completing all 3 Shadowlands raids in “fateful” mode.
- Title “Hero of Destiny” for completing all 3 Shadowlands raids in heroic, fateful mode.
If you can’t find a group for the achievements or lack the patience (or skill), there are often groups that either do it for free (“Friendship” communities) or sell the corresponding achievements and rewards for gold.
3. Back from the Beyond
One of the biggest and most time-consuming achievements of Shadowlands is the feat of strength “Back from the Beyond.” Blizzard probably doesn’t expect many players to complete this achievement, as you won’t see it in your achievements overview. The feat only appears once you’ve met all the requirements.
However, the achievement is definitely worth it, because you receive the pretty cool title “Veilstrider” for all your characters when you meet the requirements. But for that, you need to complete a variety of other achievements to ultimately receive the big meta-achievement. If you complete the achievement, you will also complete two additional titles almost “on the side,” namely “Torghast Strider” and “Tower Raider”.
The complete list of necessary accomplishments is:
- “Castle Nathria” – Defeat all bosses in the Castle Nathria raid on any difficulty.
- “Chains of Domination” – Complete the storylines of the “Chains of Domination” patch.
- “Sometimes the Dead Do Speak” – Complete all four Covenant campaigns.
- “Good Fakes Are Half the Battle” – Defeat So’leah in Tazavesh in the “Hard Mode” variant of the dungeon.
- “From A to Zereth” – Complete the major achievements in Zereth Mortis.
- “Endless Things” – Explore all talents in the Box of Many Things (Torghast).
- “Dungeon Myths of Shadowlands” – Complete all Shadowlands dungeons on “Mythic” or “Mythic+”.
- “In the Offensive” – Complete four of the achievements of the Covenant offensives in the Maw.
- “There Is No More Glorious” – Reach Renown level 80 with each Covenant.
- “Sanctum Sanctorum” – Upgrade all four Covenant Sanctum features to Rank III.
- “Sanctum of Domination” – Defeat all bosses in the “Sanctum of Domination” raid on any difficulty.
- “Secrets of the First” – Complete the storylines in Zereth Mortis.
- “Mausoleum of the First” – Defeat all bosses in the “Mausoleum of the First” raid on any difficulty.
- “Layman of the Shadowlands” – Complete the major achievements of the special Covenant features.
- “Tower Raider” – Complete the major achievements in Torghast.
- “All Around the Maw” – Complete the major achievements in the Maw.
You can view the individual necessary achievements in your achievements; however, the big meta-achievement only appears after you’ve completed all the “smaller” achievements.
“Veilstrider” will probably be a title achieved by very few players for years. So it’s best to try to get the title now, as some of the tasks are easier with a group. With the launch of Dragonflight, far fewer people will likely be interested in it – although the tasks will probably be easier at a high level.
4. Level Any Missing Character Classes
If you don’t have many characters at the maximum level of 60, now is the perfect time to whip up a few twinks through Azeroth and the Shadowlands.
Of course, it’s not mandatory to have multiple characters at maximum level, but with Dragonflight, it might be worth it. Because all classes and specializations will receive extensive talent trees. This may mean that a previously boring or disliked class suddenly becomes a lot of fun because completely new play styles emerge.
It would be quite unfortunate if you had to run through the old world for days until the launch of Dragonflight while friends and guildmates are already on the Dragon Isles.
A wide selection of characters is worth it to test the new talent system early and then pick a (possibly) new favorite class.
Currently, the Super XP Buff “Wind of Wisdom” is active, which grants you a whopping 50% extra experience points, making leveling a very short affair.
5. Sell Your Reagents
Throughout Shadowlands, you’ve surely accumulated countless resources like herbs, ores, or food that are now clogging your reagent bank.
In Dragonflight, you will be overwhelmed with even more resources for which there will be no space left in the bank. To prevent this problem, you should already loot your reagent bank and sell the whole stuff at the auction house. You’ll probably get some thousand gold coins and at the same time create plenty of space so you can confidently start your journey to the Dragon Isles.
Since the auction houses in a region are now linked for crafting materials, you have a large market of buyers, and resources are often sold within seconds.
If you have the space left, you can also send materials to a “bank twink” to sell the stuff later when prices might have risen. However, you will find secure buyers now when the materials are still needed.
