The Free2Play MMO World of Tanks is set to arrive on Xbox One in the second half of 2015. In an interview, a developer reveals details.
The Xbox 360 version of World of Tanks was and is a hit with 5.4 million downloads and 34 million matches. In contrast to the PC version, Xbox World of Tanks is more action-oriented. In a conversation with GamingBolt, Wargaming Creative Director TJ Wagner reveals some details about the planned release on Xbox One in Q3 2015. They have taken some time with the port, as a pioneer in the Free2Play market, it is important to have a broad player base on consoles.
Here is what’s new about World of Tanks on Xbox One:
- Players will be able to use their Xbox 360 account on Xbox One and vice versa
- There will “definitely” be new game content and features on Xbox One
- Wargaming aims for 1080p but hints that 60 FPS is not as important for the game as it is for a first-person shooter
- The Creative Director mentions “massive” 30-tank battles and promises “amazing graphics”
- Creative Director Wagner did not want to specify an exact date, otherwise, the PR department would lynch him, but it will definitely be in 2015
