What is the event about? Exactly 75 years ago, the German invasion of the Soviet Union started during World War II. Wargaming is therefore launching the World of Tanks event “Operation Citadel”, to commemorate this conflict and distribute new rewards to eager fans.

When is the event? From July 5, 2018 to August 23, 2018, there will be a new mission every day in World of Tanks for all hobby commanders. In addition to a commemorative medal, extra in-game currency, and consumables, you will also receive a free tier 5 premium tank: the famous T-34 in a special form after successfully completing 30 missions.
T-34 as a special premium tank
What’s special about the new T-34? As a premium tank, there is the “T-34 Protected”. This is a modified version of the standard Soviet T-34 with additional hull and turret armor. This provides special protection against HEAT and HE shells.
How strong is the “T-34 Protected”? The armament has changed a bit compared to the normal T-34. The 76mm gun has less penetration and damage, but the reload speed has been significantly reduced.
Robust and stealthy: Additionally, the camouflage value is slightly increased, but visibility is reduced. Due to the heavy additional armor, the T-34 Protected loses some mobility on the battlefield.
What else is there? Those who master all 50 missions from the event will additionally receive a special historical camouflage for their tanks.
