The first players are already playing Wild Hearts. The official release for PC is today, on February 16 – fans on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S still have to wait until 00:00. However, a trick grants you earlier access.
What is this trick? Wild Hearts has been available for PC since 4:00 PM German time, but if you want to play on your console, you still need to wait. The release there is only at 00:00.
As users on reddit have found out, you can already play Wild Hearts on Xbox if you set your Xbox’s region to New Zealand. Because it is already after 4 AM there and the release has already taken place.
How do I change my region? You just need to follow a few simple steps to change your region on Xbox. In the official support article it says:
- Log in on your console
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide
- Navigate to Profile and System > Settings > System > Language and Location
- Select New Zealand (or another country where it is after 00:00) from the list
- Save and restart
According to many users on reddit, the trick works perfectly well, while others complain that it doesn’t work for them. There is no guarantee for this reason. But if you want to play now and aren’t on PC, it’s worth a try.

Can it also be done on PS5? Theoretically, you can also change your region on PlayStation. However, you must have created your profile in the corresponding region. This is usually not easy, which is why the trick does not work here.
Still, you can already play on PS5 now – just not as easily and with some restrictions.

- you can only play for a total of 10 hours
- you need a subscription to EA Play (or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate) for access
- if you use EA Play, the demo ends as soon as you reach the city of Minato – about after 1-2 hours
- if you use EA Play Pro, you can continue playing even after reaching Minato
You can easily carry over your save for the release at 00:00, so you can seamlessly continue where you left off. If you start now and still have all hours left, you can basically play continuously.
Theoretically, you can also already play the release version on PC or Xbox, but there is no cross-progression in Wild Hearts. So if you later switch to PlayStation, all progress will be lost.
