So, do you find Elden Ring hard? Then it must annoy you when some particularly elite players boast about how easily they get through the game. But a well-known modder is probably laughing at these “professionals” – he just plays with a piece of foam.
Which controller does the crazy guy use? The modder SuperLouis64 plays Elden Ring with a Ring Fit controller. It is actually designed for the Nintendo Switch and specifically created for fitness games.
The controller is basically a round piece of foam. It comes with a thigh holder. One of the Switch controllers is clamped there to track movements.
There are numerous crazy controllers that you can really play with. Often, however, these are rather impractical – especially in games like Elden Ring, where even a careless hug can kill you. It’s all the more surprising that SuperLouis64 is successful with it.
And does it work? In a clip, the modder shows how he defeats a boss in the game with his Ring Fit controller. Not only that: he manages to do it on his first attempt. What others fail to do, he masters with fitness devices.
For the movements in the game, he has transferred his own movements. He has to jog to move in the game. He performs attacks by squeezing or moving the controller. Healing works through a squat. So not only does he get the victory, but he also stays fit:
Anyone who understands Elden Ring can kill even hated bosses with just 2 attacks. Such a controller is still a major exception. The modder is no stranger when it comes to absolutely ridiculous input devices.

Who is this guy? SuperLouis64 has previously attracted attention with strange controllers. For instance, he played the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV already with the Ring Fit controller.
He has also modified other devices to play games in the most unique way possible. In Final Fantasy, he controlled one of the classes with a specially modified Yu-Gi-Oh! deck.
Elden Ring is not Final Fantasy and is definitely a bit harder. So if you can’t defeat bosses with a foam wheel or generally need multiple attempts, that’s no reason to be ashamed.
