Where Winds Meet is a new action RPG for PC and PS5. MeinMMO explains what you should consider regarding the settings.
With Where Winds Meet, a new action RPG from China launches in Europe. What you should consider at the start if you want to jump into the game with high FPS, you can find right here with us on MeinMMO. You can also read our technical outlook on how the game runs on PC in this article.
A positive note upfront: Even with the lowest settings, the game still looked very good in beta. Ultra stands out mainly due to more details, better resolution textures, and improved lighting. More details about that can be found in our article.
Where Winds Meet: The best settings on PC

- Visual style: Select as desired. Changes the color representation
- Brightness: Adjust if necessary
- Motion Sickness Reduction: Activate if necessary. The game will then change certain settings automatically

- Select monitor: Select active monitor

Super Sampling
The game ran smoothly for us even without upscaling methods. With DLSS, FSR, and Co., you can further increase the FPS if needed. However, it was not mandatory for us, as the game gives a good and smooth impression even without so-called “fake frames”.
- Super resolution type: (XeSS, FSR, DLSS)
- With DLSS: Balanced
- With FSR: Resolution quality: 70
- Antialiasing: Activate
Visual Details
- Graphics quality: Custom
- Ambient quality: High
- Tessellation: Low
- Vegetation quality: High; we found no impact on performance
- Lighting quality: High
- Draw distance: Low; can provide you with up to 20 FPS more depending on the setting if you forgo high settings
- Effect quality: Medium
- Reflection quality: High
- Real-time sunlight: Activate; this makes the game look better and the setting consumes hardly any performance from us
General Performance Check
Low vs. Ultra: For a test, we stood in the bustling city of Kaifeng in the game and tested performance. Switching from Low to Ultra causes FPS to rise significantly, with currently only slight losses in graphics quality.
Native vs. FSR: With FSR activated at 70% resolution quality, FPS significantly increase and exceed 200 FPS in Low with Frame Generation.
Native vs. DLSS: A colleague activated DLSS in her game but did not notice any improvements in FPS. This might also be a bug. Normally, the frame rate also significantly increases with DLSS activated. We will test at release if anything changes here.
Test system: Ryzen 7 7800x3D, Radeon RX 9070, 32 GB RAM, WQHD resolution | Test location: City center of Kaifeng | Installation type: Standard
| Low | Ultra | |
|---|---|---|
| FPS values (without DLSS/FSR) | 130 FPS | 80 to 90 FPS |
| FSR, without Frame Generation | 130 – 140 FPS | 100 FPS |
| FSR, with Frame Generation | 240 – 260 FPS | 180-190 FPS |
