Which update is coming in January 2026? In Where Winds Meet, according to a post by the developers on X.com, the next major update with version 1.2 will arrive on January 8. The content of the update is spread out over the entire month of January and will be released on different days.
New features include a new area, several new quests, as well as new content such as additional world bosses, the Guild vs. Guild pre-season, and a new world level.

Many new contents in January
When will the updates be released? Even before the major update on January 8, the first new features in Where Winds Meet will already be available:
- On January 4, the world level will be increased to level 10.
- Additionally, a new game mode will be released on that day: ‘Hero’s Realm: Sorrow of Mortalbound’
The major version update 1.2 will arrive on January 8 and will bring a multitude of new content to the game:
- Version 1.2 will bring new campaign quests as well as so-called ‘Legacy’ quests with new tasks and stories to experience.
- The update will also introduce the new world boss Nameless General, whom you can face starting with the update.
- Moreover, with update 1.2, the event ‘Jianghu Martial Games’ will also begin

What other content is coming to the game? The shared roadmap also shows further updates that are scheduled to appear shortly after the major patch. You can expect the following new features:
- A week later, on January 15, you will be able to descend into a new cave. The Puzzle Cave ‘Mistveil Prison’ will be available.
- For those who play Where Winds Meet as an MMORPG, things will get interesting starting January 16. The pre-season of the Guild vs. Guild battles will begin, where guilds can compete in 30vs.30 battles.
- On January 22, the new region ‘Nine Mortal Ways’ base will be unlocked for exploration.
