In the side quest “Shadows in Bloom” in Where Winds Meet you will meet the musician Bai Rong. She presents you with a music puzzle and brings you to the Heroes’ assembly. We explain how to solve the puzzle and where to find the musician afterwards for the Peach Blossom quest.
Here’s how to solve the drum puzzle: When you first encounter Bai Rong, you must prove to her that you are a true musician. She plays a melody for you that you should replicate by ear.
To do this, you need to select the instruments in the following order:
Once you have completed this, she will help you visit the Heroes’ assembly. There you need to collect 7 clues to continue the quest.
Later, you should find her again as part of the Peach Blossom quest. However, the game does not tell you where and at what times you can track her down. Therefore, we have prepared some locations and circumstances where you can encounter her.
How to find Bai Rong for the Peach Blossom quest
Once you have completed the side quest “Shadows in Bloom”, you will not find Bai Rong as easily again. Since the Peach Blossom quest is more of an encounter, there are few hints in the game about how to continue her story.
After you have completed the story in the Hall of Velvet Shadows, she will no longer be at the obvious places where she appeared before. To find her again, you should first check her room.
Return to the Hall of Velvet Shadows (if you are not there anymore) and go to the third floor. It is located in the same area you visited during the quest “Shadows in Bloom” and where you drank together. If she is there, interact with her, and you should also be able to find her in other places and play the Peach Blossom encounter.
If you encounter her again after completing the quest in the Hall of Velvet Shadows, she retreats to the Radiant Pavilion, where you can complete the Peach Blossom quest.
However, there is no fixed waypoint for this; you must listen for the music. If you can’t hear any music, return to Bai Rong’s room and speak to her.
You will find the pavilion west of the Hall of Velvet Shadows at this location:
If you are nearby, you should hear an instrument that you can follow. The closer you get, the louder it should become. If it gets quieter, you are moving away from Bai Rong. If you enter the right room, you should be able to see her quickly.
Return her hairpin that you took during the quest “Shadows in Bloom”. This will complete the encounter.
