Apex Legends is getting a Battle Pass, but no one knows exactly what will be included. The community is wondering when it will come and what they will get. At least some information is already available.
When is the release? There is no exact date for the Battle Pass yet. Some suspect today, March 1st, as the start date for the first season of Apex Legends, and thus for the Battle Pass.
Whether this will prove true remains to be seen. What is certain, however, is that the season will start in March and last for three months. What Season 1 will bring has already been published by Respawn in a roadmap.
How much will the Battle Pass cost? So far, no exact cost has been announced. However, there are hints through a leak indicating that the Battle Pass will come in two variants. The Battle Pass system will be similar to that of competing game Fortnite.
One variant will be available for free to all players. The second variant will be paid, a “Diamond” version, which will likely offer different and more rewards.
In a widely supported Reddit thread, players have already discussed the possible costs of the Battle Pass. Concerns have been raised that the pass could cost up to $30, which would be too much for the players.
What’s included in the Battle Pass? Those who own the Battle Pass will be able to earn some new content. According to information from chip and Dexerto, the new content will mainly consist of cosmetic items such as:
- Skins for Legends and weapons
- new banners and voice lines
- finishing moves
All items will likely follow a theme for each season. It is also likely that players can earn loot boxes. These can contain further items, such as heirlooms, for which some people spend up to $500.
Do I need the Battle Pass for new Legends? No. Respawn has already clearly communicated that new Legends will not be included in the Battle Pass. They will be available without the Battle Pass.
This means that new Legends like Octane, who has already been leaked as likely the next Legend, will be available for every player. Only cosmetic items are included in the Battle Pass.
