When does Battlefield 2042 come out? The shooter will be released on November 19, 2021. This is the most current date; Battlefield 2042 was originally supposed to be released on October 22.
However, due to the Corona pandemic, there were difficulties during development, which forced developers Dice and publisher Electronic Arts to postpone the release.
The early access phase of the open beta is already underway. Starting October 8, all players can try out the shooter for the first time. We will follow the launch of the open beta for you in the live ticker.

Open Beta gives first insight into Battlefield 2042
This is included in the open beta: The first open test phase allows you to try out the Conquest mode on the map “Orbital”.
- Additionally, you can play the four specialists, each with different attributes
- Also included is a portion of the arsenal of weapons with various attachments
- As always, there are also plenty of vehicles and aircraft that you can try out
How long does the open beta run? You have from October 8 at 9 AM to October 10 at 10 AM to try out Battlefield 2042. Then the beta phase ends.

What to expect in Battlefield 2042
As is known from the series, the shooter offers a selection of maps and modes focused on massive warfare.
- Players compete in either 32v32 (Xbox One and PS4) or 64vs64 matches (Xbox Series, PS5, and PC)
- There are three major, different areas of multiplayer: All-Out Warfare, Portal, and Hazard Zone
- There are a total of 13 maps at the release of Battlefield 2042
- 7 in all modes, 6 map classics in Portal mode
- There will be a total of 10 specialists at launch
- What exactly Hazard Zone entails is still a secret
- There is crossplay between platforms, but only to a limited extent
- There will be seasons and battle passes
What about story? This year, Battlefield is skipping a story campaign and focusing on multiplayer. However, that doesn’t mean there’s no story. It will just be told within the framework of multiplayer and in the Hazard mode.
The setting is quite interesting. According to DICE’s future version, the EU will no longer exist in 2042, and Germany will go bankrupt.
What about anti-cheat measures? In a statement, DICE has commented extensively on the topic. Battlefield 2042 will show no mercy to cheaters and will immediately ban every caught cheater without prior notice.
