Even at the beginning of February 2021, not everyone who would like to own a PlayStation 5 has been able to buy or order a PS5. When will new orders finally be possible again? We summarize what is currently known.
Last updated on 02.02.2021
Update February 2: As reported by the site Gameswirtschaft, the PS5 was marked as “in stock” (while supplies last) on Amazon today, February 2, shortly after 9 AM. Delivery was said to take place by February 14. It is currently displayed as “Not available at the moment” again.
Also, a small contingent was offered today at Otto.de (already sold out, but you can still try it over the phone, maybe you’ll get lucky).
However, this does not appear to be the start of the next big ordering wave. That is expected to come in the coming weeks – likely before mid-February. It should also be announced in advance.
Yesterday, on February 1, the PS5 Digital Edition was briefly available at Amazon. However, only a few copies were available. According to Gameswirtschaft, these were warehouse deals with possibly damaged boxes.
Generally, it seems worthwhile to keep an eye out for isolated actions before the next big wave. It might be worth checking the following retailer sites:
- Alternate
- Amazon
- Euronics
- Expert
- Otto
- MediaMarkt
- Saturn
- GameStop
- Medimax
- Spielegrotte
- Conrad
- Cyberport
Update January 31: As reported by Gameswirtschaft, more orderable contingents are expected to be available before mid-February. There is even said to be a specific date for this, which has not yet been communicated.
It remains exciting in February, and MeinMMO will keep a close eye on the developments for you. Should the date and participating retailers of the next wave become known, you will find out here as soon as possible.

What is the current availability of the PS5? If you have already ordered one, then it’s somewhat better than before. For example, Saturn is finally delivering outstanding PS5 orders, and there is also slow movement at MediaMarkt. Further deliveries should also happen there soon.
However, if you haven’t had any success with ordering yet, things still look bad. Because the PS5 is still sold out, and there was unfortunately no expected small ordering wave in calendar week 4.
So if you absolutely “must” have a PS5 now, you basically have no choice but to look on eBay or with other resellers who, however, are asking for significantly overpriced prices. And there’s no point in trying at local retail.

But what does the near future hold for further online purchases? When will regular PS5 orders actually be possible again?
Buying PS5 – Status for February 2021
January is essentially over now. Therefore, no retailer is likely to take new orders – not even on a smaller scale.
However, February could possibly look a little better.
Can the PS5 be bought in February 2021? As reported by Gameswirtschaft, they now have confirmed information from several (including large) retailers that at least until the end of the first week of February (01 – 07.02.) no new PS5 sales are to be expected. Notable suppliers and retailers expect significant restocking only in the second half of February (earliest from calendar week 6).
Euronics has, for example, stated to Gameswirtschaft that interested parties should prepare for longer wait times and that they expect possible availability of the PlayStation 5 in February or March of this year (2021).
So if a new ordering wave occurs in February, it is likely to start earliest in the second half of the month, probably towards the end of February. Until then, there may be isolated, small actions, but you should not expect a larger new sales wave until mid/end of February.
