World of Warcraft does not have its own panel from Blizzard at Gamescom. However, players still hope for information. An alleged insider, however, provides fans with more details about the upcoming Patch 8.1, which Blizzard has not yet announced.
Blizzard is tight-lipped about information regarding World of Warcraft at Gamescom 2018. The presentations on stage primarily showcase the gameplay of the new Island Expeditions along with a show featuring cosplay and a new Warbringer video about Azshara. Still, fans hope for more.

What are fans hoping for from WoW?
Although Blizzard has officially announced that World of Warcraft will not have a fully dedicated appearance at Gamescom 2018, many fans are thirsty for information in the forums and on Reddit.
Especially the upcoming Warbringer video about Azshara is fueling hopes for announcements. Many players are hoping for more information about the Naga, who apparently will soon join Battle for Azeroth, and how they will be integrated into the game.

Other players are hoping for more content regarding the war between Horde and Alliance, and about the conflict within the Horde. The cinematic “Old Warrior”, featuring Saurfang in the lead role, has only further fueled the discussion about the morality of Sylvanas’ actions.
Some fans have already speculated about a sequel to the release of “Old Warrior”, portraying Genn Greymane as Saurfang’s counterpart in the Alliance.
Information about the upcoming allied races is also in demand (via WoW forums). Players are hoping for more details in the announcement for Patch 8.1. Some even consider this announcement likely to occur at Gamescom 2018, allowing 8.2 to be presented at Blizzcon.

Patch 8.1 with Naga content is allegedly set to be announced
In a now-deleted Reddit post, further information surfaced, allegedly to be presented at Gamescom. The “leak” fuels many hopes. It concerns the upcoming Patch 8.1 for Battle for Azeroth, which, according to the leak, should be titled “The Tide Whispers” and will focus on the Naga.

An “insider” reveals more information: In response to the post by the user (via Reddit), which has since been deleted, the Redditor “leakysneaky” provided a response. He claims to have “a little insider info”. We have summarized all the leaks for you:
- Blizzard plans to announce Patch 8.1 titled “The Tide Whispers”, which will see a new Azshara raid “Nazjatar” with 9 bosses, including Queen Azshara herself.
- Along with the raid, two new dungeons are set to appear:
- The Shadowlands, featuring a story about the Loa of Death Bwonsamdi and Vol’jin
- Nazjatar: Sea of Stars
- Two new zones are allegedly coming, Crestfall and Zul’Dare for the stories of their respective factions:
- Crestfall is an Alliance zone populated by secluded Kul Tirans.
- Zul’Dare is a Horde zone featuring a sacred site of the Zandalari, the Hall of Loa, which has been taken over by Kul Tirans. The Horde must reclaim the site.

- A new faction, the “Nazjatar Resistance” is set to appear, requiring a revered reputation for the allied races of the Kul Tirans and Zandalari trolls, along with completing the quest lines in Crestfall and Zul’dare.
- The patch trailer is said to feature the Old God N’zoth.
- There is to be a video in the style of “Old Warrior”, in which Genn Greymane plays the lead role. The video is said to highlight Greymane’s past with his son, as well as Jaina Proudmoore as a baby with her mother Katherine, and some scenes featuring Taelia Fordragon. It is said to end with a scene in which Genn Greymane pulls a chair in front of Saurfang’s cell in the Stormwind dungeon.
- The end of the presentation is supposed to show Anduin and Sylvanas in a fight; more information is set to be revealed at Blizzcon.

Is this information reliable? It’s hard to say. The main post with over 400 upvotes has already been deleted. The additional info from “leakysneaky” has only 3 positive votes (as of 15:05 on August 23).
The leaks primarily feed already expressed hopes, and Blizzard has already covered everything that is supposed to be presented in a blog post. It is possible that Patch 8.1 will only be announced at Blizzcon.
However, according to data miners, a map named “Nazjatar” has already surfaced in the WoW data (via Icy Veins). We will find out what turns out to be true this Friday at 18:15.

This will definitely be shown: In the official blog post, Blizzard confirmed that the new Warbringer video about Azshara will be presented. This is set to be the highlight of the presentation at Gamescom for WoW, along with the cosplay show.
Until then, every day at the WoW panel at Gamescom 2018, Island Expeditions will be showcased, featuring two of the top German guilds competing against each other.
