GTA 6 suggests a romance between the characters in the first trailer. Are we really getting a “Bonnie and Clyde” story?
Rockstar Games has finally released the trailer for GTA 6 – in the middle of the night and 15 hours earlier than originally planned. But now we in Germany are awake and can take a closer look at the details of the trailer. Especially the characters provide the first glimpse into the story of the long-awaited game.
What do we know about the characters? In the first scenes, we see one of the two main characters, a young woman referred to as “Lucia.” She seems to be sitting in a prison and says it’s bad luck that she ended up there (minute 00:06 to 00:11). Additionally, Lucia is the first female protagonist in the GTA series.
Later follows a scene where Lucia sits in a car on the passenger seat with cash in her hands. Driving the vehicle is a man who is supposed to be the second main character (1:00 to 00:04).
The name of the male character is not yet known. But it seems that he and Lucia have a romantic relationship reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde.

How do we come to a “Bonnie and Clyde” story? During the scene where the two sit in the car together, a bunch of police cars come towards them. The cash in Lucia’s hands and the bandanas around their necks suggest that they have just committed a crime.
In the background, Lucia’s voice can be heard saying: “The only way we can get through this is to stick together as a team.” As the sentence ends, the scene changes, and we see the intimate moment when Lucia said the sentence. In the background, banknotes are lying on the bedside table.
The final scene of the trailer again shows the two protagonists, masked with bandanas and holding guns, storming into a store.
What other details does the trailer reveal? We see numerous scenes depicting the crazy life in Vice City – a metropolis based on Miami capturing the atmosphere of Florida.
In keeping with this, there are swamps with flamingos and alligators, hovercrafts, sun, beach, and the nightlife of a metropolis (0:11-00:36). A nightclub with a DJ is also shown (0:34).
A highlight of the trailer is definitely the craziness of the city and its citizens. Whether it’s the alligator strolling into a store (0:48), men whose excesses are shared on social media (0:50-0:57), or an older woman armed with hammers taking over neighborhood watch in her nightgown (0:57).
Of course, cars cannot be missing in GTA. We’ve already seen a lowrider and some sports cars as well as muscle cars. There are also various boats and a small airplane.
