While many are waiting for the PlayStation 5 release and news, a user has modified his PlayStation 4 Pro. This includes a fast SSD as well as a water cooling system. It looks really cool and is extremely quiet.
Many “PlayStation 4” owners find Sony’s console too loud and it’s cumbersome to clean the fans later. On reddit, J_MAGG has now shown that you can make your PlayStation 4 Pro very quiet.
What exactly did the user do? On reddit, he presented his PlayStation 4 Pro. He disassembled it and then heavily modified it.
He not only replaced the HDD with a fast SSD, but also connected the console to a computer power supply and provided his PS4 Pro with water cooling.

What benefits does the water cooling provide for the PS4 Pro? The thread starter J_MAGG shows what advantages this modification of the PS4 Pro offers:
- System boot time: The boot time of the PlayStation is significantly reduced, in the video it takes about 20 seconds.
- Noise level: The PlayStation 4 Pro is very quiet and is 35 to 40 decibels loud – that corresponds to whispering or a quiet street at night.
- Game load times: Significantly reduced load times thanks to the installed SSD: In Fortnite, the load times were reduced from two and a half minutes (HDD) to one and a half minutes (SSD).
- Temperature: The temperature remains constant at around 30°C.

In a concluding third video (via Youtube.com), he then shows in about 15 minutes how he disassembles the PlayStation 4 Pro and how he mounts the new parts and what exactly he paid attention to.
What did the water cooling cost? The user explains that he paid about 1100 dollars for the upgrade of the PS4 Pro.
