Shortly before the launch of the PS5, Sony answered numerous questions about its next-gen console in an ultimate FAQ – including the future of PS Plus on the PlayStation 5.
When will the PS5 be released? In the USA and some other countries, it will already be available on November 12, just a few days from now. In Germany and other European countries, the PlayStation 5 will be available on November 19 – one week later.
Many PS Plus members may switch to Sony’s new next-gen console. But what can we expect there? Here are the key points about PlayStation Plus on the PS5:

Will PS Plus continue with the PS5? Yes, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s paid add-on service will also continue on the PS5 and will still be required for the online multiplayer of many games. Additionally, you will still receive
- exclusive discounts in the PlayStation Store
- exclusive in-game content for many games
Old PS4 games from the PS Plus library: You will still be able to download all PS4 games from your existing PS Plus library on the PS5 and play them via backward compatibility – provided you have an active PlayStation Plus membership and the game is compatible with the PS5.

In short: All PS Plus games that you have already secured will still be playable on the PS5.
Will PS Plus also offer PS5 games? In November 2020, PlayStation Plus will already offer its members the first PS5 game – namely Bugsnax. This is a quirky first-person adventure game and is also one of the launch titles for the PlayStation 5.
Additionally, all PS5 owners will receive the so-called PS Plus Collection at the launch of the new console. This is a collection of 20 top titles that were released in the PS4 era.
What’s next? However, many are asking: what can we expect beyond this? Sony has now clarified that all PlayStation Plus subscribers will continue to receive at least two PS4 games per month, which can be played on the PS5 through the backward compatibility feature.
Additionally, Sony’s goal is to regularly add PS5 games to the monthly selection. It is already known that Destruction AllStars will be available for PS5 in February 2021. PlayStation 5 players should also benefit from being PS Plus members in the future.
