As living games that continuously evolve, MMORPGs depend more than other games on being actively played by people. New MMOs lure players with a variety of features and gameplay possibilities to capture our attention and ideally keep it.
And we all have different priorities and preferences when it comes to the features of games:
- Some are the setting or the character creator relatively indifferent, while others place a lot of value on it
- Some want as much PvE content as possible in their MMORPG, while others swear by open-world PvP
- Others, in turn, absolutely want non-combat content like housing or crafting
The list could go on almost indefinitely. Each of us will have our own “checklist” by which we decide whether we will at least give an MMORPG a chance or not. What about you? What features are the most important to you in an MMORPG?
We have defined the term “features” somewhat broadly here. It includes not only gameplay elements and content but also aspects like monetization or graphics, which can also be decisive for many.
